Delete your account

You can delete your Watermelon account and everything we hold with it, whether or not you still have the app installed. This page explains both routes, what goes, and what we're required to keep.

Two ways to do it

If you still have the app

Delete it yourself, straight away

Open Watermelon, go to the Account tab, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account. You'll be asked to confirm. The deletion happens immediately — there's nothing to wait for and nobody to email.

Not signed in? The same button reads Erase my data and clears that device.

If you've already uninstalled it

Ask us, and we'll do it

Email support@builtbystarling.com from the address you signed in with, and say you want your Watermelon account deleted. Sending from that address is how we know it's you — we won't ask you for anything else.

We'll confirm and delete the account within 30 days.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Deleted

  • Your account and its Google sign-in
  • Your email address, display name and profile picture link
  • Your credit balance, including unused credits
  • Your credit history, and the song titles recorded in it
  • On the device you delete from: your song list, your practice settings and progress

Kept

  • A record of each purchase — what was bought, how many credits it was worth, when, and the account identifier it went to. We keep it so a repeated message from the store can't grant the same credits twice, and for our own accounts. It holds no name, email address or song title.
  • Whatever Apple, Google or RevenueCat keep about the transaction under their own policies. Deleting your Watermelon account has no effect on those records.

Deleting is permanent, and unused credits are not refundable. Your music files are never touched, either way — Watermelon only ever kept a reference to them, never a copy.

Questions

Anything about your data, including a copy of what we hold or a correction to it, goes to support@builtbystarling.com — we answer within 30 days. The full privacy policy explains what Watermelon collects and why.
